Use this guide when: People Incorporated work email or Microsoft sign-in says your account is blocked, rejects your password, or asks for a security key/passkey you cannot use.
Match the message to the next step
| Message or symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Your account is currently blocked from signing in” | Contact IT. A password reset alone cannot remove an administrator block. |
| Wrong password or repeated sign-in failure | Check you selected your work account and typed the address correctly. Do not keep guessing passwords. Request help through the portal or your manager. |
| Security key, PIN, fingerprint, or passkey prompt you cannot complete | Record the prompt and tell IT. A previous case needed IT to correct the registered sign-in method. |
| Lost/replaced phone or an Authenticator method you no longer have | Your manager must request the MFA reset from IT under the existing process. |
What you can check yourself
- Make sure you chose your People Incorporated work account rather than a personal Microsoft account.
- Check Caps Lock and the keyboard layout before trying a known password once. Do not use someone else’s credentials.
- Write down the exact error and the time it occurred. Note whether the same account works on another approved work device.
- If a VPN is active, tell IT its name and whether it is an approved People Incorporated connection. A past block involved a sign-in while a VPN was active. Do not disable a required company security connection or switch networks to evade an account block.
How to request help if you cannot access email
The IT ticket form is available without signing in. Use your work email address as the requester. If you cannot receive messages at that address, ask your manager to submit the request from their work email to it@peopleincfr.org and include a way and time to reach you.
For an MFA reset or changed verification phone, have your manager submit the request and approval. IT will verify the request and provide the next steps.
Include these details
- Your name and work email.
- The app/device where sign-in fails.
- The exact error or a screenshot with sensitive information hidden.
- Whether the issue involves a new phone, lost Authenticator access, or a passkey prompt.
- A contact method and availability if you cannot read work email.
Never put passwords, temporary passwords, security PINs, or MFA/verification codes in a ticket. Follow IT’s instructions for any credential reset.
